A Note from the Founder

Our Teachers

Have you ever had a goal so close to your heart that is felt as if it was the very pulse of your being? That is what this studio is to me. It is the pearl of my soul. It is a true honor to guide another human body towards their own goals and ambitions through the power of movement. Body and spirit transformation is one of the most beautiful displays of the human life. As a young dancer I found refuge in movement. I found purpose. As a grown woman today, it is my art to teach movement practice. I have spent many years dreaming of a studio of my own, and planned accordingly, now is the time. It is my great honor to share Dragon Pilates and Yoga with Island of Kauai. It is my hope that the studio will be a sanctuary for those in search of self-improvement and actualization. Your desire for improved health is a calling from your body; your body is listening to you. You are in charge of your body, your mind and your life! I offer my passion and discipline to those who are ready for the challenge. Thank you to all of the teachers who have supported me along the path. Thank you to all the students who have shown up for themselves, faced a challenge, and allowed me to lead their practice. I invite you now to the practice, and would love to see you on the mat in the studio very soon. May all beings everywhere be happy, find peace and live free.

Chelsea

Chelsea (Principle Instructor, Founder)

Chelsea is full of passion. She studied and trained classical ballet for over 20 years at both Stamford City Ballet, and Syracuse University. She began to fuse her knowledge of Pilates and Yoga as a pathway to optimal alignment of the body through movement. She has dedicated years to self-practice in order to embody her training. Her training includes a RYTT Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Certification, under Laura Camp of Flying Studios, after 10 years of practice. Now she has taught over 5,000 hours since completing her training in 2014. In 2016 she was sponsored to train under Gabrielle Walters, the creator of Inferno Hot Pilates. Since completing her Pilates training, she as taught over 6,000 hours of Pilates in California and Hawaii. Since arriving in Hawaii in 2017, her focus developed further into the art of cleansing both internally and externally. Nutritional cleansing with natural whole foods, as well as restoring each organ with the most bio-available resources, has influenced her focus to the full body experience; internal and external training. Healthy living includes knowledge of alignment with specific exercises to achieve optimal sound structure of the vertebrae in order to conduct balanced healthy breath. Introspection and emphasis of digestion is a necessity to keeping your body healthy inside and out. Strength is essential in order to have enjoyable experiences which bring value and happiness to one's body, mind and spirit. These principles are what Chelsea achieves to relay and offer to each client she works with. She places strong emphasis on alignment and breath, accomplishing efficient results in weight loss, strengthening as well as shaping core muscles and detoxing.

Class with Chelsea

Pilates with Chelsea is breath of fresh air! Her style infuses classical mat Pilates exercises and Tababt interval training, giving the most effective results. With over 25 years of Classical Ballet training, 23 years of yoga, and 10 years of Pilates instructing, in 55 minuets she manages to exercise and strengthen every part your body, focusing on toning and trimming. She also incorporates a fantastic cardio segment that will boost your metabolism. Her expertise and passion for Pilates shines thorough, as he leads a high intensity, low impact training session (meaning it is safe for your joints, and for beginners). Most of all, Chelsea's authentic love for what she does is apparent through her class. She is genuinely optimistic, disciplined, goal driven and full of faith and gratitude. Somehow, she is able to be a respectful "tough coach" with a soft heart, truly unique. She can work with private lessons building foundation or group and couples classes.

About Chaba

His hands helped built the studio. His support and heart drove the vision into form. He is an incredible human, yogi, and professionally trained MMA fighter. He has been training is in Jujitsu for 20 years under many masters. He trained 7 years under Charlie Pearson at the C3 Academy in Washington State in MMA and certified in 200 hr RYTT Yoga Alliance Teacher Training under Z Flow in 2015. His advanced skills in inversions and handstand balancing bring real life expertise to his teachings. He also has trained in Hot Pilates and Hot Yoga since 2018 under Bikram Yoga Maui, and Blue Dragon Big Island. Chaba teaches Hip/ Knee Mobility & Splits training, Handstand and Self Defense workshops at Dragon Pilates and Yoga. We are proud to have him as part of the team!
